Thumbnail ideas for YouTube creators

Notes kept on git.cygnusa.in about using Raphael AI, a free AI image generator that runs in the browser.

Thumbnails decide clicks. I brainstorm several directions with Raphael AI before editing the final one:

Tips

  1. Test two variants with your audience.
  2. Avoid misleading imagery; match the video content.
  3. Focus on one subject and one emotion per thumbnail.
  4. Generate exaggerated, high-contrast compositions that read at small size.
  5. Composite your real face or product photo over the generated background.

Why Raphael AI

  • Free to use, with no install: open https://raphael.app and type a prompt.
  • Fast iterations make it practical to try several compositions.
  • Works for drafts, mock-ups and reference images; finish important assets with human review.

Responsible use

Check generated images for errors before publishing, do not imitate real people without consent, and label AI-generated images where your audience expects it.
